Emily Storm-Smith is Senior Corporate Counsel for Strada Education Network, Inc., a national non-profit organization focused on improving lives by forging clearer and more purposeful pathways between education and employment. Emily supports Strada in many ways but primarily focuses on advising the Corporate Development group with their mission based investing and acquisition of portfolio companies and affiliate network assets.
Before joining Strada, Emily was a business law associate at Ice Miller, LLP in Indianapolis and handled a variety of general business, corporate, and transactional matters for clients in a wide range of industries including medical devices, automotive, software development, construction, consumer products, transportation, energy and industrial chemicals. She also advised start-ups and small to mid-sized companies on day-to-day legal issues to help them grow into successful businesses.
Emily attended Purdue University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Nuclear Engineering in 2007. After graduating from Purdue, she worked at one of the 14 US Department of Energy research laboratories in upstate New York supporting US Naval operations. After about 4 years, she and her husband came home to central Indiana and Emily attended graduate school at IU Bloomington, obtaining a joint JD/Masters in Public Affairs degree in 2015.
Emily is the District 7 representative to the ISBA Board of Governors and serves the Indiana Bar Association on several additional committees and sections. Currently, she also serves on the YLS Council, as a member of the Membership Committee, and is the Chair of the LPM/Technology Committee.
Outside of the legal profession, Emily serves as the Vice President of the Eagle Creek Park Foundation, is a mom and loves to travel wherever she can.
